Antique Nakuru Kenya Postcard

$18.00

A rare original postcard depicting a scene from Nakuru Kenya. This postcard came from a family who lived in Kenya in the early 1900’s.

Nakuru is a lively town in west-central Kenya, sitting near the Mau Escarpment on the northern edge of Lake Nakuru. It’s about 95 miles northwest of Nairobi and lies in the heart of the Kikuyu people’s homeland. Back in the colonial days, Nakuru was a hub for European activity. Today, it’s one of Kenya’s biggest towns and a key agricultural and commercial center, also home to Egerton University, founded in 1939. The town is a busy transport hub for the region. If you visit, you can check out Lake Nakuru National Park with its hundreds of bird species, the ancient Hyrax Hill site, or the massive Menengai Crater.
